It works with 11 different health insurance companies to offer Obamacare health plans for 2017 and 2018. All the 11 carriers provide individual and family insurance. Covered California will continue partnership with these 11 different health insurance companies to offer Obama Care California health plans for 2017 and 2018. Aetna is one of the country’s largest and oldest health insurance providers. The company began in Connecticut as a life insurance provider in the 1800s. In 2023, Aetna CVS Health joined Covered California. It’s available in several counties.

Blue Shield, founded in 1939 and based out of San Francisco, is a not-for-profit health plan dedicated to providing Californians access to high quality health care. The organization serves more than 3.4 million members and has almost 65,000 physicians across the state. Blue Shield offers HMO and PPO plans as well as Health Savings Account plan options. Chinese Community Health Plan has been serving the San Francisco Bay Area since 1986. They have a strong commitment to providing high quality, affordable CA health care services to all of their members. CCHP coverage is available to anyone in San Francisco and/or northern San Mateo counties. They offer HMO plans.

Inland Empire Health Plan (IEHP) is one of the country’s largest Medicaid health insurance providers. It’s known for offering free community wellness programs and a local customer support team.
IEHP was established in California in 1994 as a Medi-Cal managed care plan in the Inland Empire region. Today, IEHP offers three types of health insurance to residents in Riverside and San Bernardino counties. All of its plans provide essential benefits, like coverage for emergency services and doctor visits. Plans include IEHP Medi-Cal, its Medi-Cal plan available to eligible residents, and IEHP DualChoice, a Medicare-Medicaid plan.
