If you have an existing health insurance enrollment through Covered CA then you have an online application on file with them. It is recommended all consumers set up access  to their Covered California application if they do not have it already.

Some consumers have access to this account if they applied online through Covered California’s website and created a user name and password. Others will have signed up through an insurance agency, a county assistor, or enrollment counselor, and may or may not have been given access to their electronic account.

Reasons to Obtain Access to Your Online Application:

  • At the time of your enrollment you may be offered a dental plan to purchase and enroll on, and features that allow you to make your first binder payment to the insurance company.
  • Covered California may require document proofs  to verify information like your income or citizenship. You can upload these documents to your account instantly and securely.
  • It is the best way to review your account. We recommend reviewing your account about twice a year to ensure everything is still accurate and that your plan is showing enrolled.
  • You can report changes. Covered CA requires you to report changes such as an address, income, and offers of employer offered insurance, etc.
  • At the time of enrollment if you requested important notices by email, then you must have access to your online Covered CA account secure mailbox to read them. Mail cannot be a back- up plan because you will not receive these letters from Covered CA by regular mail.
