American Indian/Alaskan Native

If you are a federally recognized American Indian/Alaskan Native and can prove that you are a member of a federally recognized tribe, you are exempt from having to wait for Open Enrollment in order to purchase a Covered California Health Plan. Not only can you enroll at any time throughout the year, but you also have the freedom to change plans up to once a month. This a great advantage that we’d encourage you to make use of. Most people either have to wait for Open Enrollment to come around or have a qualifying life event.

However, we need to emphasize that it’s not enough to simply be an American Indian/Alaskan Native. In order for you to be exempt from the regulations regarding enrollment periods, your status must be federally recognized and you must be able to provide documentation to prove that you are a member of a federally recognized tribe.

If this is you, feel free to get a quote, shop for a health plan, and contact us if we can be of assistance to yo in any way.
