Open Enrollment for 2016 on the California State Insurance Exchange (Covered California) began on November 1st and ends on January 31st, 2016. During Open Enrollment for Obamacare, you will be able to apply for insurance or switch health plans. Outside of Open Enrollment you’re generally unable to apply for medical coverage or change health plans unless you have a Qualifying Life Event. That means that for many people Open Enrollment is the only opportunity to get or make changes to their individual and family health insurance.
