Changing and Canceling OneShare Plans

OneShare members are free to make a plan change mid-year. However, they are only allowed to make one program change per program year without an application fee.

Changing Your OneShare Plan

To make a OneShare program change, members must submit a program change form. This will result in a new effective date, and all sharing services will start over. Some of these include:

  • ISA/out of pocket maximums
  • Per incident/lifetime maximums
  • All waiting periods

When you change a program, all pre-existing condition terms and limitations will reset, including maternity and cancer. After a change of plan, these conditions will be considered pre-existing conditions.

Changing programs makes sense in certain situations. For instance, if you have a baby and would like a less expensive coverage option, you can switch your OneShare plan. Maternity is only offered on the Classic Crown and Complete program. When you no longer need maternity services, you can move to the Classic Basic tier plan.

Those who decide to change their OneShare program must make a written request. OneShare will then notify the member in writing, and the terms of the new plan will be made prior to the next monthly contribution. Any refunds due will be processed based on the refund policy. Medical expense sharing will commence on the day that the change of program comes into effect.

Canceling Your OneShare Plan

OneShare is a membership, and members are free to join or leave at any time. Enrollment and cancellation are unlimited. Enrollment can be done by calling Health for California at 1-707-571-7590 (Live Support) or 1-877-752-4737 (Toll-Free).

For prospective members who want to see if OneShare is the right program for them, the 30-day period can be regarded as a free trial period. You can learn more about the perks of the OneShare Health Program during that time. If you love the program, you can stay. If not, you can cancel the membership and receive a refund.

Members who decide to cancel their OneShare membership must do so in writing. The notice should reach OneShare Health 15 days before the end of the month. During the first 30 days of canceling, members will receive a full refund, including their application fees.

In case there are any medical bills submitted prior to cancellation, the member will not get a refund. This is why members are advised to refrain from canceling.
